Creating a sense of community at UAMS through understanding and collaboration
Comprising one of two representative bodies within the UAMS Campus Assembly, the UAMS House of Delegates is an open assembly of volunteer employees from various departments throughout the UAMS Campus.
The purpose of the House of Delegates is two fold. The House of Delegates is managed through the division of VCA and serves at the pleasure of the Chancellor by keeping them informed of opportunities, actions, and projects taking place through out the campus. The House of Delegates also provides a sounding board to the Chancellor with regards to their decision making process.
As a representative body it is the privilege of the House of Delegates to advise and make recommendations to the Chancellor for the betterment of the UAMS campus in matters of employee interest, special needs, and issues.
The House of delegates was designed to be an organization that will permit a broad base for campus governance through a participating involvement of students, faculty and staff in the development of guidelines and regulations for campus affairs in relation to those matters that affect the quality of campus life as well as to those matters that enhance and sustain an environment of academic excellence.
It is the desire of the House of Delegates to generate and promote understandings, collaboration and a sense of community on this campus.
As such, the purpose of the House of Delegates is to provide a representative forum for the communication and exchange of ideas as the basis for a deliberative synthesis of recommendations to the Chancellor and, through the Chancellor’s office, to the President of the University on matters of concern to members.
